This course introduces students to the foundational elements of theatre. Through hands-on experiences, students will explore movement, voice, pantomime, improvisation, acting, and technical theatre. The course also provides an overview of theatre history and dramatic literature. Students will build confidence, collaboration, and communication skills through ensemble work and performance-based projects.

Musical Theatre:

This course is an exploration of American Musical Theatre. Students will study the work of the actor/singer/dancer and use their gained knowledge to develop as performers. Students will prepare and present as soloists as well as members of small groups and larger ensembles. Students will prepare material for class presentation and critique.

IB Theatre SL & HL:
-
IB Theatre course at both HL and SL level requires no previous experience in drama or theatre. Students’ individual ability to be creative and imaginative, and to communicate in dramatic form, will be challenged and extended through the theoretical and practical content of the course. The course emphasizes the importance of working individually and as a member of an ensemble. Students are encouraged to develop the organizational and technical skills needed to express themselves creatively in theatre.
